First of all: the tool arrived here in Germany after about 10 days in a nice cardboard box. At first sight the tool looks really good, solid, sturdy, with very well printed scales and numbers, they're totally sharp throughout. The (very slightly bent) ruler part can be flipped around in two ways: it's got an imperial scale on one side and a metric one on the reverse. It can be inserted into the guide part in either direction, so you've either got the wide bar at the active end or the narrow bit. The scales on the ruler count up from both sides (and very exactly so) so you can use the long part as a ruler as well. So indeed it's rather multifunctional, you can use the tool for depth measurement, as a ruler, a 45 and 90 degree angle and for scribing or marking. But there are a few flaws that reflect the rather low price: the guide is rather loose, there's a lot of vertical play even when the handscrew has been tightened. The guide channels don't meet up with the wide end part of the guide, see photos. Also, the area with the 1/10th mm scale is rather thick and together with the vertical play this means you need to look at it exactly perpendicularly or you won't be able to read the correct value. This looks much better on the imperial scale which is rather thin at the edge which allows for a far better reading. Finally, when you insert the ruler fully into the guide body with the two wide T-bar ends being on top of each other, there's about half a mm clearance between the two. also the top edges don't line up properly by about 0.3 mm but that's only because the ruler slides in too far. Standing the tool on the rather solid T-bar end and releasing the handscrew, the ruler slides down and the scale shows exactly 0.0mm, so that's fine. Summarizing this lengthy review: you get what you pay for. Not less but also not more. For the price it's nicely made and at least for woodworking where you rarely work to an accuracy of tenths of millimetres it's absolutely sufficient.
