This is the second RC ERA C189 I have purchased, the first was the camo colour, they are so good. The scale is fantastic especially with the 5 rotor blades, it looks just like a model kit and the physical size is impressive the fuselage is about 35cm long. I flew it today indoors in a basketball stadium so no wind, it hovers rock solid and smooth, thanks to not having optical flow, other helis I have with optical flow annoyingly twitch around in hover which I don't like at all but this C189 is great, it is also very responsive to your control so reacts immediately without delay. The heli control is not like a conventional rc heli, it controls more like a drone (heli drone) making it easier to fly, I guess this opens it up to more people. If you are looking for a more traditionally controlled smaller scale rc heli then the XK123 or XK124 may be considered. RC ERA also have the C187 and Eachine the E120, both are smaller lower cost great looking scale helis (heli drones) with optical flow and fly really well. The main competitor to the RC ERA C189 is the Eachine E135 which I also have, both are the same physical size and look great. The E135 body plastic is fragile and is easily damaged if not careful, it has optical flow so it twitches a bit in hover but not too bad. In manual mode (optical flow turned off) the E135 is hard to fly, like trying to control a fast rc car sliding on ice, you want it to turn but it is slow to react and so it gets away from you very quickly. I suggest keeping it in the more gentle optical flow mode unless you really know what you are doing and are in a large treeless field. So because of it's robustness and control response and three speed settings the RC ERA C189 is my favourite scale heli in this category.
