Ideal for hobby use. Uncertain about the accuracy of the temperature displays, but with a little practice you can find the settings that work best. The soldering pencil uses standard "900 Series" tips that are readily available. A professional would want a sturdier model but the price of those is too high for me. Good value.

Good value for the price. As supplied its accuracy is within 0.2 degree C of my reference thermometer. If greater accuracy is needed it is easy to adjust. The 110V to 220V AC version has no surge or overload protection on its Line input (Vcc), so I suggest putting a 220 ohm fusible resistor in series for 110V and 2.2k ohm fusible resistor in series for 220V. The English version of the instruction manual is quite good.

Good value. The accuracy of the voltage display is within 0.2V. Output voltage adjustment is best done with a dummy load connected as it can jump about while turning the trimpot.

Q: Thanks for the answers about the USB-C port, now a followup question - How do I activate the USB-C port? When I plug a Type C memory stick into it nothing happens. I have searched the BIOS but can see nothing related to this.

tihon Lol. It has usb-C, but it hasnt usb-C bus on it. Its just used to connect external sata drives in some models of mini PC's. So its kind of esata connector in garage style ).

Performs as advertised. It's file system exFAT format,which is fine for computers but some other devices require FAT32. eg phones and digital TV's. Reformat before using on these devices.

Q: Dose the AK3V have a USB C port? While installing a hard drive I noticed a port that looks like USB C, but the case needs to be modified to access it. Has anyone tried this?

tpnapier Yes that is indeed a USB C Port.There is also provision for a Msata SSD on the main board... I have photos but don't know how to post here.

Q: in the photos I can see all sides of the unit but no vga port are the photos wrong? or does it not have a VGA port?

yellowhat The AK3V I have has a VGA port on the side opposite the USB and microSD card ports. It can work with the HDMI ports to make a 3 screen desktop.
