Q: Is it the global version?

Anim80r it is chinese version, but it has english language support. it performs same as the global version. there is hardly any difference

Q: can you receive incoming calls on it?

Anim80r no you can not answer calls as you can do on Samsung gear smartwatch, this is a smart band it does give you notification for an incoming call.

I bought this for my dad. a really good product from Xiaomi. brightness on lowest is not recommended. the battery backup is good. I have been using Honor band 4 for last 6 months, compared to Honor band 4 mi band 4 does work faster. I have not yet fully checked all the features will do them in later. If possible I'll update the review.
