inverse2k1 Hello, I own the red 1419 CNC and I can confirm the GRBL control board has connectors for X, Y and Z axis limit, plus an emergency stop button. I'm not sure about the inductive Z probe, I suspect the GRBL board might support it but the only hint is a 2-ping connector named J-A5. However, the machine itself has no options to attach limit switched. On the bright side, the aluminium rail are in the right places to attach your own limit switch supports. You just have to design the support yourself. There is a tutorial around, do a google search.

Q: Do you think this machine can mill a metal that is Mohs 6.5?

gevraagd door BG414865537 op 2020-05-22 08:49:21

inverse2k1 Hello, you can't expect a machine that is made in part of aluminium structural parts, to effectively mill mild steel and metals of similar hardness ( 6.5 Mohs ). That is a universal rule, not just pertaining to this machine. At best you might try to engrave mild steels, or do some very very light work, otherwise the machine will flex and ultimately experience accelerated ageing of the components.

Q: will the ER 11 collet kit fit on this machine

gevraagd door BG172117371 op 2020-08-28 11:37:00

inverse2k1 Yes, it can fit. However, the spindle motor it too weak to use ER11 collets larger than 3.125mm, so the short answer would be no, unless you upgrade to a more powerful spindle motor such as the 500W brushless 50mm ones. They usually come with a compatible holder and only require longer M4 screws. Of course the 500W spindle motor has its own speed controller and external power supply: never attempt to power this motor from the GRBL board!

Q: Is this spindle holder plastic?

gevraagd door apexsolutionsmemphis op 2020-03-05 07:38:52

inverse2k1 No, it's aluminium. The whole machine is made of aluminium and steel parts (*the T8 anti-backlash nuts only, are made of brass)

inverse2k1 Hello Mr. Selcuk, actually, based on your description, it looks like your module is quite a bit underpowered compared to the specifications. At 500mW any kind of black plastic should smoke almost instantly. Also, if the focus is correct you should be able to see a bright yellow spot of smoldering very hot plastic. What you describe is what you should expect from about 50mW of power, so ten times less than what is declared. I suspect your power supply is either not calibrated or the diode is bad
