Q: Can it handle 7.4v battery?

ZonderZout Not really. I have two of these and blew up the steering motor in both of them after a single run on 7.4v batteries. Motor gets power, but doesn't turn anymore. It also smells burnt. Was fun while it lasted though. But stick with the default 4.8v is you don't want to destroy it!

ZonderZout I got two. One backwards steering and one barely steering at all (though in the right direction). Reverse is faster than forward on both. Trim the throttle on the remotes backwards all the way to kinda make it better. But these are not the cars in the pictures. No foam wheels.
