There is not enough packaging provided with the tube - no bubble-wrap at all. This mean there was a tiny dent in the threads of mine. Thankfully it does not affect the screwing action and is out of sight. Another small issue is that the anodisation of this tube is not the same as the original FT03 units. The FT03 has a pleasant matt black anodisation. The tube has a glossy black anodisation.

Thin wires, shoddy clamps. Don't be fooled by the size of them, the hinge is sloppy and the two halves of the clips mis-align when you exert any pressure on them.

Fairly easy to solder, but one problem which the instructions do not mention is the fact that JYE Tech have decided to sabotage their product by disabling the rotary control after a linmited number of power-ons. You then have to contact JYE Tech and provide the number printed on your PCB... meaning you now have to disassemble the product again to find it. All of this assumes you have not thrown the product away - because JYE Tech DO NOT TELL YOU that you need to contact them for an activation code. I understand their need to clamp down on illegal copies, but this is a poor implementation.

Everythign in this kit feels like it is from a set of a higher price - even the plastic tray (grey) has magnetic shims built into it to hold the pieces in place. Do remember that the black and grey set has a different set of bits from the green and yellow set.

This clamp meter has replaced my last one, mainly due to the ADC ability, but also because of the screen. The numbers are not just large - they are adequately spaced, increasing legibility compared to my last model. This is often overlooked on clamp meters, which often have smaller displays. The screen also updates fairly quickly, around 3x/sec. This model also has an auto-power off which CAN be disabled. Very useful. The only flaw is the backlight: it is very uneven and ugly.
