andmonster This is the same as the STC-1000 except it has a dual display - the set point and the actual temperature. The differential it refers to is the hysteresis, which you can set in the settings. So for instance the temp goes down to 2 degrees and shuts down, then restarts when it goes back up to 4 degrees, which is 2 degrees hysteresis or differential. This works in reverse if you use it on heating.
