This is a really neat clock kit, but unfortunately was very disappointing. After getting it all built only several of the features functioned correctly. The temperature sensor worked, the brightness dimming function worked and the voice function worked, but the clock function did NOT work. Also, it was NOT possible to set the year, month, or day on the unit. All in all, not happy with the outcome.

tholl Afterbuilding this unit, I find it works mostly as describes. It can be operated by mostly any IR remote control from mostly any button. The circuit draws 3.2 ma when off which means a typical 550 ma 9v Alkaline battery will only last 1 week in the OFF state. In the maximum ON state, you can expect about 14 hours of operation and in the minimum ON state, about 20 hours.
