We use Bluetooth on this amplifier to play music from our smartphones on speakers taken from an old hi-fi system (6 ohms, 60W max). The TPA3116 is very convenient for this usage. Sound is surprisingly good, connection is fast, reconnection is automatic. We got only 2 problems. The first is with a Samsung phone. Sound was too loud for background music, even at the lowest volumes on the phone and on the TPA3116 amplifier. I found on the web that this is related to the Bluetooth absolute volume option introduced on recent Samsung phones. The solution is to activate the developer mode and disable the absolute volume Bluetooth option. It seems that some devices are designed to work with this option, not the TPA3116. The second problem is that the TPA3116 auto-connects too easily with some transmitters in the neighbourhood. We have a low-latency Bluetooth connection for headphones on a digital piano, the TPA3116 takes it when idle, even though the transmitter is on another floor, and then the headphones cannot connect anymore in true low-latency mode. The solution is to turn off the TPA3116 when not in use. Apart from these minor disadvantage we are very satisfied with this product.
