Once shipped, the S30 arrived very quickly. The Laser Kit is very well packed and very easy to assemble! Make sure you check all connectors when assembling as the X & Y stepper motors were swapped from the factory despite a QA pass tag attached. The operation of the Laser is very quiet and I am surprised at how little noise the air assist makes. It is already in use and cutting 2mm thick balsa for model aircraft. Running 900mm per min at 90% power cuts clean with no charring in one pass. Cut edge has light brown colour similar to the balsa and not burnt or black. Experiment with your own wood and setting s to see what works - this did for me. Running slower at full power would easily cut 3 to 5mm balsa - that is all I need to do. I also got the Sculpfun steel honeycomb bed so I can use thin neodymium magnets to hold the wood down without moving. This helps GREATLY to cut cleanly. Also I strongly recommend LightBurn to run the machine - it is so easy to use, and they offer a free full version to trial for 30 days. Go for it - strongly recommend! Ordered and delivered in November, opened and had a quick look to see that all was there then put away till Christmas . On assembly found the x axis gantry plates bent. emailed sculpfun and they have arranged for new ones to be delivered.
