As mentioned in my previous review, I ordered another 5. Despite my first order being for a 'white' one, as I suspected BG supplied a 'warm white'. These 5 are actually all 'white' but as often with BG, they are not all the same, being a mix of maybe 2 or 3 different manufacturers/styles, though nominally the same specification. I trimmed the plastic parts of the cases slightly to ease the fit into my tight light fittings as my first one had been a bit of a squeeze. As before, I am impressed with their light output. The old R7S bulbs were 300W so these should be a significant saving long-term, assuming they are reliable and long-lived!

this gives out a nice warm white light, similar to the bulb it replaced. However it is not as bright as the 150W halogen, I would say less than half. So definately not a replacement, but still nicely usable for ambient lighting

I got just one of these to see if it would fit in a smaller than average PIR fitting, an 'astro' one that throws more of the light down to minimise light pollution. In the pictures it looked too big, and in real life it looked too big, but it did in fact just fit! Phew! I had another conventional PIR light just a few metres away and so I could do a direct light comparison. Almost identical! I think the conventional one was about 200W so this will cut my electric bill to a tenth! So illuminating the local cats won't be costing me a small fortune in future! I have another 5 of these lights around the house so will be ordering 5 more straight away. I got the 'warm white' originally, but will be getting the 'white' ones as I actually prefer that now having got used to white LED bulbs in the house. Recommended!

The green marked area needs to be filed away by 1mm each side to allow the two electrical holding pins to locate correctly. Other than that this is an excellent bright replacement for an energy guzzling halogen bulb. Easy to fit once modified. Without the modification they would not stay in the holder and would drop out.

Replaced a 120w R7S halogen spotlight lamp in the garage with this. Gives a better light output with less than a fifth of the running costs.Less than a third of the price of a local electric wholesaler as well. Result!

I awaiting a bright replacement for the halogen burner I bought this LED light bulb. With 18W stated in the technical description it should produce the light of a 100-120W conventional light bulb. But on the first glance the brightness was far away from that what I expected. So I gave it a closer look and the measured power input was about only 6W according to about 40-50W of a conventional bulb. Comparing the electrical power consumption of each LED measured to 3V/40mA with that in the technical data sheet of 5730 LEDs (3V/100mA) its's clear, the lamp is a fake with not original LEDs mounted. For this it is quit nice but for me not useful.
