VolkerP You are correct I wanted to use them to work with a 5V relais off a 12V power supply but they use as much current from the 12 V as if this was a simple resistor instead of a switching regulator. they draw about 35mA on their own @12V DC, nearly half a Watt and get pretty hot without doing anything else. Crap

tfoutfou these are pretty shitty , i get a bunch from different sources and they all heat and drew 20 to 60 mA on their own . (they draw this current even with no load OR with a load --> the efficiency is crap with all the wasted current) the bigger size one (still very small) drew only 0,2 mA with no load , and very small with load
