You can use this not only for car paint but for many other applications, such as measuring the coating thickness on frying pans, heaters, etc. and discovering if a surface has metal underneath, for example a laptop screen back. Needs double calibration every time you switch it on. Also during calibration don't rush removing it from the calibration pad, otherwise measurements will be even less accurate.
