i bought 2 of these. Arrived on time and all parts present. The first one i put together and the mic had no leads on it at all. perhaps 2 mm on each leg. so was REALLY tricky to solder as i didn't notice and put it in almost last. Through hole items need legs! Now it has been put together and it's powering and can transmit, but i'm having trouble with grounding (?). The variable capacitor used for tuning is faulty and needs pressing down to make it work. Yes. i've triple checked for dry joints and soldering shorts and all kinds. the only thing that works is to press the varicap together. The second kit i've not started yet, but at least it has 2 full legs and on a larger (taller) mic.

Nice PCB, complete set of components, not soldered yet, so I can't say whether or not it does function.

the radio works perfectly and whit that antena i hear form a room of my house to 3 squares with a clear sound, very happy with the product :)

Kids love building this project and found out that long after done is still a favorite among those already built. The only concern is the mechanical varicap that is somewhat fragile and was destroyed by heat. A varicap diode properly attached solved the day. Excellent project to build and not powerful enough for the FCC to knock on your door.
