I bought the ESP8266 and the DHT11 modules to set up a remotely readable thermometer. As soon as I found the Github link on the product page, setup was pretty straight forward. I also found a variety of YouTube videos that explain how to add the board to Arduino IDE and set up a web server and give links to prepared sketches. Not much of a problem, even for someone with only very basic Arduino skills. In fact, the only issue I encountered was with the USB cable that I used. Lucky for me the first video I watched pointed out this possible issue and switching to a different USB cable connected the board to Arduino IDE.
