I haven't used many plasma torches, but I can say this one exceeded my expectations. I've used many oxy-acetylene sets (including a couple I owned), but I was looking for something that didn't use gas bottles as a consumable as I find them to be a pain. Haven't run it up against claimed duty cycle, but the manual says 24a rated, and when cranked up to the top end on a 20a 220v Square D QD breaker it did kick the breaker. This is probably wouldn't be a good choice for a CNC plasma torch table, but for someone that needs a torch every once in a while I imagine it'd be extremely difficult to beat for the price.
