These flashlights are GREAT! Light output at max is more than enough for everyday use. I like how modes are changed, You can either increase or decrease the intensity with a single half-click! You can also change the program of modes if you don't like the default one. With a tube adapter that is available separately, you can use bigger 18650 batteries for longer runtime. What is the most important for me is that these flashlights will first warn you by blinking and then power off and stop draining batteries when voltage approaches certain lower limit. Importance of this feature follows from the fact that you need to use unprotected cells (unless you have very special high-current protected ones) which themselves can not prevent dangerous overdischarge.

First impressions is the Astrolux S1 is a great little flashlight its light and compact and it packs a 1600 lumen punch for it's size, which is amazing. works well in the 18350 battery form factor,but for max power the 18650 is a great choice.
