Camera and 8" LCD has Clear Optics without digital zoom enabled. Unit offers x8 times digital zoom. Overall Build quality is quite good for a lightweight unit. With micro SD card installed video and still images can be captured. On the LCD Screen bezel there is a small brightness control trimpot, which controls the 8 LED lights surrounding the Lens which allows the light to focus directly on the object. The additional two flexible stalk LED lights can be moved and angled in any direction which is also handy. *Note: The picture samples below show the zoom level at different heights, to depict the working space you have between the base and the actual lens. Overall quite a good product for the $

nice build, works fine. I think that if you are going to work on smd 01005 you are going to need something stronger, but for a beginner is more than good. picture is from an iphone 6 motherboard
