unfortunately this cable did not work for me but it was cheap enough and worth the try and easy to install and also uninstall just doesn't recognise anything is plugged in tried several devices I now use a Bluetooth radio transmitter instead

Apparently e46 radio's need some circuitry in the cable to work. This cable doesn't work as described and the parts needed to make it work makes it more expensive than the OEM cable.
