To use:- 1. Slacken the locking nut on the end of the gauge. 2. Insert it into the hole/bore you want to measure 3. Wriggle it to the widest part of the bore so that the pins are firmly touching the sides 4. Lock the nut on the end of the shaft 5. extract the gauge and using a micrometer or calipers measure the distance over the pins Repeat steps 1 to 5 a couple of times to ensure that you have measured correctly.
