I used these in many projects. Handy and cheap little step down modules. 12v to 5 volts works great. Haven't tested higher voltages yet. Only one thing: keep in mind to check for shortage! The common ground is almost touching the input and output positive pads (see photo). Overall, great and useful little modules.

I received 5 units that were fixed at 5.1V. A fixed resistor was mounted in place of the potentiometer used to adjust the output voltage. So the description does not match the product as delivered. Beware if you need a variable output. No problem for me as I intended to use them for 5V anyway, and it's easy for me to swap out the resistor or install a potentiometer should I need a different voltage. I selected these for their low idle current, which was measured 200uA (0.2mA) at 12V.
