Works a lot better than the purely mechanical spring-loaded solder sucker I used before because the electromagnetic suction plunger provides great suction. It takes some getting used to though, because as soon as you release the suction button it has a tendency to spit molten solder back out, and if you're still over the board you're working on when that happens you're likely to make a mess that's going be tough to clean up. Once you've trained yourself only to release the button in a safe space, you should be fine.
