I just got the T2. It is in fact a small version of an S2 type except that the pocket clip can be reversed so it can be clipped on to a hat. A very handy feature!! The beam is about what you would expect from an OP reflector with a very useful spread that balances flood and hot spot well. It works for an EDC. I have been rebuilding a house for the last 4 years and have found a ThorFire TG06S with ELB 14500 to be the ticket until now. On low or medium I get 5 to 8 hours of usable light under the house, in a dark room or in the attic. This CONVOY T2 has the possibility to replace it. The moonlight mode is welcome and it has a memory which the TG06S does not. Also the TG06S comes on in the Turbo mode. Very inconvenient in the middle of the night in the house. Perhaps good for self defense in a parking lot but my wife is not impressed at all!! I took both lights out tonight and ran them on turbo for a while. The Convoy had a bit more throw and did not heat up quite as much as the ThorFire. Both ran the 14500s down to about 3.75 volts. Definitely not a scientific evaluation but from a guy that has over 100 flashlights from 23,000 lumen down to an old solid copper carbon cell museum piece, I give it a solid "thumbs up" as an EDC light.
Convoy T2 is small cousin to S2+, it has next mode memory. It has simple UI - moonlight, low, medium, high and no noticeable PWM on any mode, which is very good. Clip can be reversed. You need good battery, because with my old GP NiMH battery difference between medium and high almost not noticeable. Output with fresh alkaline, or Eneloop NiMH batteries is very good. I like especially moonlight mode. With 14500 battery you have even more output.
