The lights arrived in good order and with a USB connector already fitted to the end I could test it straight away (it works, thanks Banggood). Next to build the cabinet in which this light is going. Each LED has its own resistor so the strip can be cut to give individual lights and the strip of lights does appear to be water resistant but I am going to add a little glue from the hot glue gun to the cut end of the strip just to stop any water wicking onto the PCB. I bought a 5 metre length of the PCB/LED strip and using my Rui Deng USB tester the current draw was 1.66 amps at a voltage of 4.7 volts giving a power consumption of 7.84 watts. Therefore, by way of simple maths this gives a power draw of 1.57 watts per metre of LEDs, so with a reported 60 LEDs per metre this give a wattage of 0.026 watts per LED.
